TV & Film Production
Camera rigging, cable cam systems, and safety support for productions filming in vertical, remote, or otherwise hard-to-access terrain.
Tell Us About Your ProjectWhat It Is
Rope access and rigging built for productions.
GravityLine provides rope access and rigging for film and television productions shooting in vertical, remote, or otherwise inaccessible terrain — cliff faces, canyon walls, mountain summits, and locations where no scaffolding, crane, or aerial lift could reach. Our technicians rig camera positions, cable cam systems, and manage safe rope access for cast and crew so production teams can capture ambitious footage without absorbing the technical or safety risk themselves.
What We Provide
Three ways we support a production, start to wrap.
Camera Rigging & Cable Cam Systems
Engineered cable cam rigs, tracking lines, and static camera positions across cliff faces, canyon walls, and other vertical terrain, built to get the shot without added risk for the operator.
Crew & Talent Access
Safe ascent, descent, and positioning systems so crew members can reach vertical or remote set locations without technical climbing experience of their own.
On-Set Standby Safety
A rigging team that doubles as rescue-capable standby safety personnel for the full shoot day, not just the rigging setup — built from technicians with backgrounds in high-angle rescue, not only production rigging.
Why Productions Choose GravityLine
Beyond rigging and rope access.
Riggers who are also rescue professionals
The same technicians who build your camera line and crew access systems are certified high-angle rescue professionals — an unusual combination in production rigging, and one that means safety coverage doesn't end when the rigging is finished.
Real production experience
GravityLine has rigged for productions including Madison Square Garden Entertainment, and brings the same standards to independent films, documentaries, and commercial shoots.
Comfortable in locations other crews turn down
Beyond industrial rigging training, our team has decades of combined expedition and adventure climbing experience — which is what lets us take productions into genuinely remote, off-grid locations that a standard rigging crew can't reach or wouldn't take on.
Certification your insurer will recognize
If required, GravityLine provides SPRAT and/or IRATA International certified technicians, satisfying the safety documentation most production insurers and completion bonds require before approving a location.
Productions We Support
Feature films, documentaries, television series, commercials and branded content, live event broadcasts, and extreme sports or outdoor content — any production where the shot depends on safe, technical access to terrain a standard grip and electric crew can't reach.
How We Work
From pre-production to wrap.
01
Pre-Production Consultation
We review the script, shot list, and proposed locations up front to flag which shots require rope access or cable cam systems — and where a location's terrain changes what's technically possible.
02
Site & Risk Assessment
Our technicians survey the location in person to identify anchor points, hazards, and access routes, and to confirm what permitting or land-manager coordination the site requires.
03
Rigging & Safety Plan
We engineer the camera and crew access systems for the shoot and document an emergency action plan alongside them — the same documentation productions need for insurance and completion bond review.
04
On-Set Execution
We rig, operate, and stand by for the full shoot day(s), adjusting systems on the fly as shots change, the same way we would on an expedition or an active rescue.
05
Wrap & Teardown
Full de-rig with no lasting trace on the location, which matters on public land, parks, and any site where a land manager's approval depends on leaving no impact.
FAQ
Common questions about film & TV production rigging.
Who provides rope access rigging for film and TV production in vertical terrain?
GravityLine provides rope access rigging for film and television productions shooting in vertical, remote, or otherwise inaccessible terrain. Our technicians are SPRAT and/or IRATA International certified rope access specialists who rig camera positions and cable cam systems and manage safe crew and cast access to locations that scaffolding, cranes, or aerial lifts cannot reach.
What is cable cam rigging and when do productions need it?
Cable cam rigging suspends a camera on a tensioned line strung between two or more anchor points, allowing it to move smoothly along a fixed path across terrain that a dolly or crane can't cover — across a canyon, along a cliff face or building, through a jungle canopy. Productions typically need it when a shot calls for continuous lateral or vertical camera movement across terrain with no ground path for traditional camera support equipment. Cable cams can also carry heavy, high-end cinema equipment silently where drones can't.
Does GravityLine provide standby safety personnel during filming, not just rigging setup?
Yes. Because our technicians are trained in high-angle rescue in addition to rope access rigging, the crew that installs your systems can also remain on rope as rescue-capable standby safety personnel for the entire shoot — not only during rigging and strike.
